During the purchase of our home, we had concerns about the location of the septic field due to recent construction on the property. Seeking clarity and peace of mind, we hired two separate inspectors with a combined 60 years of experience to independently locate and document the field.
To our disappointment, neither inspector confirmed the actual location. Instead, they relied on assumptions, indicating the drain field was in an area not marked on the permit. Trusting their reports, we moved forward with the purchase—only to later discover that the drain field had been removed during garage construction. Shockingly, an illegal bootleg system was the sole method of waste disposal.
This oversight led to costly repairs, frustration, and countless headaches. But it also inspired us to take action. We founded Race City Residential Services to ensure no one else would face similar challenges.
